Did you get suggestions for this? I would be interested too.
We also send pdf files (generated with reportlab) via hylafax. But I
convert the pdf files to ps before sending them to the remote hylafax
server (The hylafax server is running fine since years and I didn't want
to touch it ..).
After getting poor results with pdf2ps I now use pdftops to convert
the pdf files to ps prior starting sendfax.
BTW: Do you use also sendfax as client or the python library?
