not your fault, I asked my colleague to forward just to me and saw the accepted
selection when he did it. I think he needed to defer :(

OK I see no reason why the idea of the patch should be rejected; it certainly
makes things faster and doesn't appear to break stuff. I'll try and get it in
over the weekend.
