We have a client who is very keen to see 2d barcodes added to our
package. Specifically, DataMatrix and PDF417 (which has nothing to do
with PDF).

There has been a barcodes package for reportlab for some time, created
originally by Ty Sarna. This was folded into our main library for
Version 2.0 and 'wrapped' in the style of our graphics framework, and we
added EAN codes. But it still lacks 2d barcodes. Our suite is licensed
by a publishing tools vendor and they need these adding, fully tested
and ideally within about 3 months.

We would provide some basic orientation to our graphics framework and
the visual Drawing Editor, and would review the code, but are not aiming
to become experts in the spec.

Your estimate should include
- a rough estimate of the time and costs involved
- your resume or a brief biography
- details of any previous experience with barcodes
- the costs of any reader hardware and/or standards documents.
- what testing/verification steps you could carry out to ensure that the
code is correct and of high quality

There is no need to write highly original code and adaptation of any
existing open source algorithms you can find are welcome. However you
will be responsible for a correct implementation.
