[reportlab-users] newbie: filling in a pdf template

hello,
I have a pdf file that I created with another application (omnigraffle).
This pdf file contains lots of fancy boxes, some of them with some text.
I would like this text to be a placeholder and use my omnigraffle-created
pdf as a template for use with reportlab.

I.e could I use reportlab to replace text in a pre-existing pdf? that would
be fantastic....
any hints are very much appreciated.
