a few years back I contributed the reportlab/demos/rlzope Zope
External Method.

maybe this will help you 

but more importantly, I suggest that you give a look at the 
RenderableCharts Zope product by Dirk Datzert. With this some of our 
students made some really really impressive Zope reports with medical datas 
(I can't show this however).
