Hi Andy,
It sound like a good idea to me. I have modified a table class for my own
use to set column widths based on the frame width, and then only problems I
ever had were in splitting the table onto a second page or column. There was
also a very limited implementation of column spanning in my modified class.
If you would be interested in seeing this Table class or if I can test or
otherwise help with a new Table class in any way, please let me know.
