Exactly. It's my job to provide the best possible experience for the
greatest number of users and one of the biggest problems and
complaints with V4 was the Windows-like explosion of files and options
scattered all over the place. Most people want to spend their time
with Ham Radio, not figuring out a couple of dozen configuration
files. Simplicity and ease of use are the basic requirements of any
Mac application.

Don't forget that "Update Internet Files" will overwrite the file as
well. You are welcome to hack into the band plans files but it is not
a supported feature. If you do notice errors in the band plan files,
please don't hesitate to report them. They can be fixed quickly and
downloaded instantly.
