[Scons-dev] Would requiring Python 2.7.4 or above be a problem for future release?

Debian is security driven, so they stay fairly up-to-date (currently
2.7.9-2). Debian 8 also supports python 3.4 though I have not personally
tried the setup for this.
CentOS 7 is using 2.7.5 or higher; I looked in one of the RPM mirrors.
