OK, I have set myself up to be able to use both SCons default/default
and default/python3-port. There is a problem though with the nightmare
that is C-style (*) octal constants. I'll see if I can fix this and
create a pull request.

(*) Ritchie, and Thomson should have fixed C octal constants in the
1970s :-(
