Well just in case there is some strange problem related to path lengths I ran with
(bug000)robin at x-kitten001:~/aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa$ ls
first-file.xml second-longer-file.xml test.py
foo.xml test.dtd withcallback.py
(bug000)robin at x-kitten001:~/aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa$ python test.py foo.xml
default_base_url: CWDBS=1025 cwd=/home/robin/aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa len=34
default_base_url: url=file:///home/robin/aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa/
url_merge: url=./test.dtd base=file:///home/robin/aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa/
url_merge: merged_url=file:///home/robin/aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa/test.dtd
url_merge: url=file:///home/robin/aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa/test.dtd base=(null)
url_merge: merged_url=file:///home/robin/aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa/test.dtd
url_merge: url=./first-file.xml base=file:///home/robin/aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa/
url_merge: merged_url=file:///home/robin/aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa/first-file.xml
url_merge: url=file:///home/robin/aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa/first-file.xml base=(null)
url_merge: merged_url=file:///home/robin/aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa/first-file.xml
url_merge: url=./second-longer-file.xml
base=file:///home/robin/aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa/
url_merge:
merged_url=file:///home/robin/aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa/second-longer-file.xml
url_merge: url=file:///home/robin/aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa/second-longer-file.xml
base=(null)
url_merge:
merged_url=file:///home/robin/aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa/second-longer-file.xml
(bug000)robin at x-kitten001:~/aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa$
works fine, but I get an error in url_merge when I use this folder
~/aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaabbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb
the error looks like
> url_merge: url=./second-longer-file.xml base=file:///home/robin/aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaabbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb/
> url_merge: merged_url=file:///home/robin/aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaabbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb/secd-longer-fifile.xml
so the inputs to this function are OK and then it fails somewhere in the middle.
I'll start debugging.
