Whether it is or not, that's NOT the problem with this font.  Your "OCR
B" font is not Unicode at all.  It is a symbol font, which means it has
some font-specific character set mapping that Reportlab cannot possibly
understand.  In such fonts, there is no guarantee that the position for
letter "B" actually has anything to do with letter "B".

There are OCR fonts that do have Unicode mappings.  Perhaps you should
search further.
