.... yes this is a bug in the para layout engine which assumes that all font 
changes are issued directly into the textobject. Unfortunately TTF fonts are 
dynamically subsetted so the information becomes available when we finish using 
the font. Unfortunately I wasn't involved in writing para.py so am not nearly so 
familiar with its workings.
