[reportlab-users] Can reportlab read a PDF document?

Not in the Open Source package.

Ghostscript has a bunch of tools which can do things
with PDF.

We have some commercial code - PageCatcher - available
to Enterprise customers buying our suite - which
can both resuse pages and extract text from PDFs.
It's main goal is to accelerate development of
reporting projects by letting you reuse content
developed in other tools.
But if you just want to extract text, there are
cheaper tools available from many vendors at
www.pdfzone.com.
