You can do it with limited control on your server, I would assume. I did something like this on an ISP account some time ago. You need some of the NetPBM-programs, and you can install them in your home-dir. However, you might need to compile some of the programs if you are on a *nix without a binary distro og the needed files which are: pngtopnm giftopnm pnmtopng ppmtogif ppmquant pnmscale djpeg cjpeg (i've put the executables in a tgz at: http://server1.omnimedia.no/netpbm-rh7.tar.gz ) cd your catalog - mkdir bin - cd bin - gunzip untar netpbm-rh7.tar.gz Then it should be sufficient to add the executable-path in image_resample.php like:line 29 add: $path = DIR_FS_CATALOG . '/bin'; then add this $path to the executables like: $cmd = "$path/pngtopnm '$src'|$path/pnmscale -xysize $width $height .... (there are eleven executables that need to be prefixed) See http://server1.omnimedia.no/image_resample.txt Just did this on my test server, and I'm positive that this could have been done on a "real" ISP. The tricky part might be to get the compiled executables if you don't have shell-access. Good luck! This told the hosting company that there was a problem with the server, because it would not send an email. We got the certificate, got the folder from my host where I have to upload the secure documents, and got the URL that is to be accessed when viewed securely. I basically uploaded everything in the secure folder so that I have actually two copies of the shopping cart, one in the normal HTTP folder and one in the HTTPS folder. I changed the lines in the application_top.php file to: define('HTTP_SERVER', 'http://www.mysite.com'); define('HTTPS_SERVER', 'https://secure.mysite.com'); define('ENABLE_SSL', 1); // ssl server enable(1)/disable(0) but here is the problem: When ever I go to "Checkout" I get redirected to the non-secure shopping_cart.php page. However....the only logical solution to me, would be to not give a discount on gift vouchers. When you buy a gift voucher, you are not making an actual purchase, you are in effect, simply exchanging one form of money for another. Even if you stopped gift vouchers from being used to buy gift vouchers, isn't there still potential for a double discount? Once when the gift voucher is bought and again when it is used. Any discounts should only be applied when an actual purchase is made. The same theory would apply in other areas, such as affiliate payments. An affiliate should only get the commission when a physical purchase is made - i.e. they should not get anything for a gift voucher. My apologies if any of what I've said is negated by the way the modules actually work. Jon. Everythings working fine, SSL is working on both catalog and admin. My only problem is, and its not really a huge issue, is that in index.php in the admin module, that little box that says wether your using SSL or not still says no SSL. I can see the lock in IE telling my I'm using SSL but still the admin tells me I am not. I am using https:// everywhere in the admin and only for the checkout in the catalog. This is really bugging me. I searched the forums here but only one other person has had this problem, and no one helped him. Anyone have any ideas? The only reason this bugs me is that my boss looks at it and still thinks it insecure. I tell him its secure but he is convinced its not secure. For percentage based discounts, adjusting the group tax totals is not a problem. However what happens with fixed discounts. Say I have a discount coupon the gives me $10 off if I spend over $100. How do I know which tax group to adjust. Is it just a matter of spreading the tax reduction evenly. Or would I have to base it on the ratio of goods in the basket per tax group Help ?? I can do the code for % discounts but this obviously needs sorting before I progress the discount coupon code. I'm not sure what you mean by only delivery to certain countries but this will only allow a new customer to register and add Delivery addresses under these two countries. Do you have an interface to your MySQL Database? If not you can install phpMyAdmin which you can find here: http://www.phpmyadmin.net It's free. If you already have your information in your database, I would suggest you delete the tables 'countries' & 'zones' and then thru phpMyAdmin where you'll see "Run SQL query/queries on database "yourdatabesename" paste this: # # Table structure for table `countries` # CREATE TABLE countries ( countries_id int(11) NOT NULL auto_increment, countries_name varchar(64) NOT NULL default '', countries_iso_code_2 char(2) NOT NULL default '', countries_iso_code_3 char(3) NOT NULL default '', address_format_id int(11) NOT NULL default '0', PRIMARY KEY (countries_id), KEY IDX_COUNTRIES_NAME (countries_name) ) TYPE=MyISAM; # # Table structure for table `zones` # CREATE TABLE zones ( zone_id int(11) NOT NULL auto_increment, zone_country_id int(11) NOT NULL default '0', zone_code varchar(32) NOT NULL default '', zone_name varchar(32) NOT NULL default '', PRIMARY KEY (zone_id) ) TYPE=MyISAM; Then paste the queries I put in the last reply. If you haven't entered your information in your database yet. Find these sections in your oscommerce.sql and replace them. Not these above but the two from the previos post. You can find the oscommerce.sql in the install folder under catalog. Hope this helps and good luck. Probably happens for 1 in 10. I'm assuming it has something to do with sendmail since the order is entered into the database, but the email confirmation and customer service email never make it to their desitnation. Customers tell us that the browser screen is blank and hanging, so they refresh the browser to figure out what is going on. That enters the order again into the database, and it can happen over and over again. I had a customer enter his order 12 times this morning. Anyone out there with some help would be great. I have another update "kind of" done, mostly just better formatting and less confusing for doing updates to login/access info. Selecting the "full access" will allow access to every page in the admin. To restore the "levels" functioning with added contributions, you can just add the file name(s) to the array in /functions/administrators.php with their associated tool box name. It's been a real peeve of mine that pages should be individually selectable, rather than by what tool boxes they are in. If you have employees, you might want them to be able to handle newsletters without having access to database or file tools, which are under the same box. It could probably even be set up to scan all the files in the folder and prompt for inclusion (ie. new files from contributions), but setting up an admin on a page by page basis would probably be more of pain than anyone wants :) Ross ----- Original Message ----- > Frank, > > The problem lies with the administrators module. Win 98, MySQL, php4, apache Maybe you should try it live ? My Gut Feeling right now is it may have something to do with the server I'm on (Cobalt RAQ) I've been having some other problems with other scripts. I know its located within the above directory and have changed it already, but I am looking for a more advanced solution. I want to be able to change the wording almost daily, so I was thinking of using an external file to update the text. Is this possible? I know it can be done with standard HTML. Or could I 'include' a html file within the PHP code on the front page? If not, could I write some PHP and then include THAT file in the main catalog? Just a fraction easier than finding and updating the language files each time. If you're really clever, maybe you could edit it from admin or something? That would be fantastic! Don't want anything flash - just a bit of basic text. I will help where I can, but I'm still on my steep PHP learning curve! I know my HTML a bit better. Many thanks in advance! Rich. No problem. If you are planning on making another loaded snapshot soon, maybe I can get you the slightly updated version to include. I am a pretty busy, but might be able to spare some time to "clean it up" and get it to you. The loaded snapshot is an awesome idea BTW... I added a _parent to a line in shopponcart.php & to header.php where checkout was called.. funny thig was I had to click the header one twice to get the frame to break, so I made that one _new. Now both the header checkout & add item checkouts give the ol' 'some items are secure/some are not / display unsecure?' which are a few images. This may not be such a bad thing since it does assure some securtiy & my https url is displayed correctly. I didn't mess with the last suggestion you emailed me because that's the unsecure add item & I only want to break frames at secure check out. thanks anyhow. BTW, I have a friend who's going to setup OSC soon & I'll recommend your hosting.
