Hi all,

I have been having some recent dialogues with Don about possible
additional features for MacLoggerDX and since effort is limited, Don
said that he often decides the priority of feature additions by the
demand level of users. (I guess no-one on this list needs be surprised
there - given the excellent responsiveness Don gives us, his
customers!) Anyway he suggested that I might want to socialise some of
my ideas on the mailing list to see what the comments and interest
might be more generally. So rather than bulking ideas into one long
mailing, I plan to send a few separate short idea threads to this list
and I know Don and I would be interested in comments and indications of
support for various /features. [Note that this is only to provide an
indication of interest, not a promise on Don's part! ] Please respond
to the appropriate email list threads.

Idea 1: Multiple Log Selection.

As a kick-off, I wonder if there are others of you who maintain
multiple logs for different callsigns? For example I have my home Call
G0DVJ, my contest group call M4U, my club calls G0RGH & G4IRC (which I
am responsible for) and reciprocal calls abroad etc. Also I might
want to keep separate logs for /P operation for any of them (with
different location data associated with it etc.)

Clearly already I can achieve this either by changing the prefs back
and forth between different directory paths per log OR by creating an
OSX user for each call on my computers and letting MLDX create separate
profiles/prefs per user automatically.

However, the idea here is that a new Log Open facility is added which
allows one to switch between different logs & prefs quickly and simply
by loading files & saving files as required. Obviously the current
path pref setting could point to a default log which is your main home
call etc for most of the time.
