Reinstallation of MacOS 10.2 over the top of the existing
installation did not fix the problem. With this installation,
Apple moves the old system folder aside and builds a new one
from scratch. Only user accounts and network settings are
preserved.
I needed to install the Keyspan drivers when I was done (as
expected, none were in the new, clean, OS install). I did so
using the Beta drivers as provided by Keyspan.
Same problem as before. I have forwarded all materials (helpful
or no) to Don in hopes he sees something I did not.
For those having problems, could it be application related?
Are you
[] Running Palm Sync on your machine?
[] Do you have Now Contact/Now Up-To-Date installed with that
sync stuff enabled (or even disabled?)
[] Do you have other sync software running that might try to
use a USB device for connection?
I'm grasping for straws here--but maybe there is a common thread
to this.
73s all.
