About Soho-can

** Please note (June 13, 2004) - we are in the middle of the process of moving the list management from Yahoo Groups to this server, a process expected to be complete in the next couple of weeks, but this server is not yet the active one for Soho-Can.** SOHO-CAN is a general discussion forum for Canadians working in the SOHO (Small Office/Home Office) and HBB (Home Based Business) areas. By developing an ongoing network of support, ideas and contacts, SOHO-CAN acts as a resource to SOHO and HBB practitioners, whatever their particular field of interest. SOHO-CAN originated as a project undertaken by Alan Thwaits (praxcomm@idirect.com) a freelance writer based in Mississauga, Ontario, and Dr. Tammy Dewar adult educator based in Calgary, Alberta, as part of their work for a online course taken at GYMNASIA VIRTUALES. The course was facilitated by Dr. Rob Higgins who is the SOHO owner/operator of CyberCorp Inc. and GYMNASIA VIRTUALES. Rob (rhiggins@cybercorp.net) was the list moderator and CyberCorp Inc. sponsored the list by providing the Majordomo listserver software and administration. After a change in orientation, operation and resources at Cybercorp required the removal of email lists from their systems, Gordon Campbell (gordon@cruachan.ca) volunteered to take over. There followed a period of relative stability on Yahoo Groups' free hosting system, however after some complaints about the advertising and the quality of service, Kevin Jackson (kevin@biz-zone.com) volunteered on behalf of CanadaOne.com ® to host the list on their account, starting at the end of April, 2002. To post a message to all the list members, send email to soho-can@canadaone.com. You can subscribe to the list, or change your existing subscription, in the sections below.

Subscribing to Soho-can

Subscribe to Soho-can by filling out the following form. You will be sent email requesting confirmation, to prevent others from gratuitously subscribing you. This is a hidden list, which means that the list of members is available only to the list administrator. Your email address:   You must enter a privacy password. This provides only mild security, but should prevent others from messing with your subscription. Do not use a valuable password as it will occasionally be emailed back to you in cleartext.
